What is a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist?

Did you know there are 6 regulatory bodies in Ontario whose licensed members can independently perform the controlled act of psychotherapy without a doctor's order?

One of them is the College of Nurses.

A Certified Nurse Psychotherapist (CNPs), in addition to their nursing training, have obtained further education, training, practical skills, and supervision in providing professional counselling skills, and psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to treat clients, including individuals, couples and children.

What is a CNP (Q)?

A CNP (Q) has undergone the necessary training and is currently under supervision. As a CNP (Q) I am offering 5 clients five free sessions of CBT in the upcoming weeks ahead. To qualify, please reach out for a consultation. As this is part of supervision, some of the sessions will be audio recorded for supervisors and just your first name and initial provided. Please reach out if this interests you as I will be starting a wait list.
